Charlie at the pumpkin patch

I took Charlie to the pumpkin patch. I thought he might enjoy hanging out with some pumpkins and picking out one to take home. What he enjoyed, as you can see from this picture, was sending the pumpkins rolling down the hill. And roll they did.

State fair!

I took Charlie to the state fair this morning. I was a little unsure of how he would do, but it was awesome! He got at least ten stickers from the various law enforce the agencies, which made him super happy! And we got to eat lots of food, and that made mommy happy! Yay!

He loved the garden exhibits. They had a whole garden about "brown bear, brown bear", his favorite book.

He got to pretend drive a helicopter and a school bus!

 

I tried to make him pose a snail. He thought it was an obstacle course!

Food! We had corn on the cob, French fries, and (not pictured) a frozen banana!

Yard work with Grammy Susie

A quick trip to Los Angeles

Charlie and I took a quick trip to Los Angeles to see Grandma Cookie, Poppy and Uncle Dean. We spent a couple of hot days playing in the backyard and watching football. Charlie gets up super early, so we went to get pancakes at 5 am, and made a couple quick early morning beach trips. It was lovely!

Sciquarium

While Grammy Susie was here, we made a trip out the Sciquarium. It's a science center/small zoo/aquarium. It was amazing! Charlie loved seeing the fish. And the Sharks. And the Penguins. And the lemurs. And the meerkats. We had great time!

Reading with Eddie

 

The stuffed bear is Charlie's best friend, Eddie. I've had Eddie for years, and Charlie has recently decided that Eddie belongs to him. His favorite thing to do is to read to Eddie. And give him big hugs. Here you can see he's doing both at the same time, with his daddy.

Big trucks!

Charlie loves big trucks. He got really excited when we found this parked in the Home Depot parking lot, and he got to touch it!

Rock Climbers Get the Girls (Again!)

So Charlie and I went to KIDZU yesterday. It's another cool indoor play area where kids basically go crazy.  They have all sorts of stuff, including a stuffed cow that Charlie was briefly obsessed with.

They also have... a rock climbing wall.  Charlie has never expressed even a slight interest in this thing before.  In fact he's always seemed a little scared of it. So imagine my surprise when I look over and he's up on it!

I even got him to look at me and smile while he was up there!

 

So while he's climbing this rock wall, a little girl comes over and starts doing gymnastics (somersaults) in front of Charlie.  She was trying to get his attention, hardcore.  Well, Charlie was mesmerized.  And so he started doing "gymnastics" too - by which I mean falling down on purpose and giggling like crazy.  Eventually they started play-tackling each other!  Here they are after a particularly good tackle -

So... Yep.  Charlie picked up another lady at KIDZU.  Momma's lock up your daughters, Charlie's in town!
